What is Syndication?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is technology used to syndicate content of a blog on the internet so that you can be notified as content is added or modified.

How does syndication work?

The first step is to download a software-based news-aggregator tool to your computer in order for you to start receiving RSS feeds.

There are many aggregator tools to choose from, (see the Readers section of RSS Info for a list of them at http://blogspace.com/rss/readers).

Once you have downloaded and installed an RSS aggregator, you need to select and input the feeds that you want to "subscribe to".

Once a new item appears in any of the Web sites that you are "subscribing to", the new information will pop up in the aggregator software, automatically alerting you of new content on the selected feeds.

How can I subscribe to a site using my RSS feed aggregator?

You can subscribe to a blog by using a direct link to the blog's XML feed. For this blog's feed, after clicking on the syndicate link or the XML icon, copy the URL from the address bar, then paste the URL into the add subscription area of your reader and the feed will be automatically detected and added to your news.
